Members are reminded to please pay their subscriptions if they have received 2 copies of Cockroach Studies i.e. £14 Sterling for EU members, or £21 Sterling for non-EU members. Payment can be made in two ways:-
1) By Sterling cheque made payable to "The Blattodea Culture Group". This should be posted to the Membership Secretary, Judith Marshall, Entomology Department, The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London SW7 5BD, UK. [Note that Roland Dusi is no longer Membership Secretary].
The meeting held on 12 April at the Natural History Museum, London was a great success. There were three talks (Hissing Cockroaches in Madagascar by George Beccaloni; An Introduction to the BCG Website by Ed Baker; and Collecting Cockroaches in Borneo by Phil Bragg) plus a video of Adrian Durkin's recent TV appearance. 20 people attended the meeting and two new members were signed up, including Rachel, our youngest member, aged 9. The photo below shows some of the people who attended.
The BCG Committee voted to hold two BCG meetings per year, beginning in 2008. One will be held in the Spring at The Natural History Museum, London, and the other will be held in the Autumn in Germany. The provisional date of the 2008 London meeting is Saturday 19th April. [This date has been changed to Saturday 12th April 2008]
The BCG Committee voted Dr Oliver Zompro onto the BCG Committee. Oliver will do the Layout & Typesetting of CS, and will help to edit the journal.
Issue 2 of Cockroach Studies has now been sent off for printing. It will be published on the 1st August and posted to members.
